Being on the road is great, being on the road ill is not. Having a compact booboo kit to get you through the 24 hours will take the edge off things.
It only takes one time of flying not at your best or an unbelievably long bus journey to become a convert.
Painkillers, Imodium, antihistamine, decongestant, rehydration, plasters (blister and normal) and zinc oxide tape are a good start. A pack of tissues, lip balm and a non perishable snack can only improve a situation. If you are unfamiliar with the particular dosage/frequency, write on the blister pack or leave a card in the case.

Other bits I rarely leave without and make sure I can easily get to are:
-Small battery pack as we need phones for so many booking numbers and codes + Google can fix a lot of confusion/language barrier
-Head torch for those hard to find accommodations
-Stuff sack pillow for really long delays
-Soft water bottle (like a race vest water bottle)
-Light synthetic warm/wind layer
After one particularly long delay I took to carrying a light weight sleeping bag on all long journeys. The memory has faded enough that I don’t bother now. I have upgraded the battery back to a small tech pouch with a collapsible plug, car charger, USB C and converters for any devices using micro and my Garmin.

Some people laugh at me but once you’ve had a miserable travel experience it’s daft to put yourself in that again for little effort.
Any suggestions please send, I’m always looking to improve.
More add-ons:
- Sanitary pads and tampons, be an asset to the team. They double up as wound dressings for larger gashes
