The Investment

Trying to convince anyone why they should train indoors especially when it’ll take away from being outdoors initially is hard.

I liken it to buying dry bags.

Buying good secondary equipment is expensive. You’ve already shelled out for good shoes, pack, layers each of them are big ticket items. Now you have socks, dry bags, water bottles, map case etc… none of it is flashy, but you need a lot of them and the combined cost feels unfair. You can make do but eventually you’ll have blisters, wet belongings, leaking water bottles and the map’s illegible.

Investing in the supplementary training will make your experiences far more enjoyable and mean you can do them for longer.
